How is new-hire retention calculated?

New-Hire Retention is the share of your new hires who reached the 100-day mark, which is the point where an employee is considered retained.

Retain's new-hire journey is built around those first 100 days.

New-Hire Retention = Retained ÷ New Hires

  • Retained — active employees who have reached 100 days.
  • New Hires — active employees who haven't yet reached 100 days.
  • Separated — employees who left before reaching the 100-day mark.
